Gullah Heritage Consulting Services is one of the leading providers of professional services, products, programs, and consulting regarding, the history, culture, and preservation of Gullah Heritage. Emory Shaw Campbell is the main consultant of this 5-member firm devoted to helping individuals, organizations, groups, journalists, and scholars learn more about the Gullah Cultural Heritage.

» Gullah Culture Defined
Gullah is the West African traditions, customs, beliefs, art forms and family life that have been retained among African Americans in the SC and GA Sea Islands. The culture has survived centuries of slavery and more than a century of free lifestyle. Modern resort development began influencing the culture in the 1950’s.

» Founder of Gullah Heritage Consulting Services
Founder of Gullah Heritage Consulting Services, Emory Campbell served as the Executive Director of the Penn Center on St. Helena Island, S.C. for more than 20 years. 

The Penn Center, a national historic landmark, was one of the first schools for former slaves in the South.  The Center now serves as one of the main repositories of information on the Gullah Culture. 

Campbell does more than 50 speeches and presentations a year to various groups, i.e., , museums, organizations, foundations, churches, conventions, schools and universities.  He contributes extensively to newspaper articles, journals, scholarly publications, documentaries, and television news shows.

» Services Provided
Gullah Heritage Consulting Services publishes books, conducts cultural teaching programs, makes speeches, and participates in seminars in order to educate people about the unique, Gullah culture and history of the Sea Islands.

Services include consulting and speeches, On-Site Presentations (Gullah Cultural teachings), Keynote Addresses, Scholarly Guidance.
